The Panther Countdown

It has been a busy week so far, and it is only Monday! I am sure your household is busy trying to get in a few more hours of Summer fun.But remember, fun doesn't stop when school starts! As a matter-of-fact, I hear there is some fun in store tomorrow night with our Open House. If you can, please stop by for an informal meet and greet between the hours of 5:30 and 6:45. Feel free to bring any school supplies to drop off tomorrow night

A few things to know for the big day. Fifth grade students will be greeted in the PAC on Wednesday morning and we will walk to the classroom together. Sixth grade students will meet in the gym, and they will also be greeted and escorted to the classroom.

Please make sure to double check bus routes, and talk with your student regarding the bus they will take home from school. Routes are posted at school and on the NAFCS website.

Lunch times are 12:30 to 1 for 5th graders, and 1:05 to 1:35 for 6th graders. Girls eat first on Mondays and Wednesdays, Boys on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and students will alternate eats first on Fridays.

Upcoming: Picture day is Wednesday, August 3rd.

Finally, a few words of encouragement...I can remember many sleepless nights long ago being scared that I could not get my locker open, I wouldn't make it through the hallways with all of those big kids, I would never remember everything I needed to know to manage my homework, I was bound to get lost. Then, and it seems like just yesterday, I faced those same fears when my own children moved up to Middle School. Please, rest easy...whether you are the parent of a new 5th grade student, or a seasoned parent with a 6th grader, your children will be cherished and taken care of, we will be with them every step of the way to guide them and to love them! Enjoy these transitions. I can't wait to meet you, and thank you for entrusting me with your most important treasure!

Love, Mrs. Zipper
